Horizon Venture's DIY T5 kit review

Was using PL and Dymax t5 b4 moving on to DIY T5s

1st is the endcaps from HV, easy to fix, just need 2 holes for the screws and another 2 for the wiring, just inset and it will hold.

anyway ... endcap attached to holder, just need to drill 4 holes. quite fuss free.

a look at the t5s with their reflectors .. very good reflection

A shot of the ballast ... notice that there are 2 pieces of white acryllic that covers both ends of the ballast to protect it from salt spray. A very useful item cos saved me from doing up the housing

yup... good products and even better still is the service u get from Ben.. very nice guy who wasted lots of time to teach me how to DIY and also gave me extra cables and other items at no charges at all.. ben..

The completed t5s on top of my tank .. unfortuately the bolts that the hardware store nearby onli have 10cm long bolts ...... thus the extra 2 cm are all showing.

With the ikea cover panel sawed into 2, will be putting hinge later on when i find an appropriate latch so that i can access the tank easily.

Tempting to put MH by cutting a hole in the centre .... hmmmm ...

The diy t5s at work after a day's of work .... onli took 2 days in all, one for buying all the stuff, had great food at ikea .... then the sawing and drilling of holes on the next day.

Total cost for this 4 t5 setup w/o tubes is <$200

to Ben for the lobangs and great service
