Have anyone tried using the domestic; strombus canarium(gong gong) as a sand-sifter????I noe that ML has strombus bula on sale but its so ex........ BTW,they dig into the sand and eat the detritius,so wad else do they need???

Hello,can anyone help.....I desperately need a sand-sifter.......sea cukes are out as my sand grains are too large,i will never succed with stars,so can anyone pls help................

Dunt think anyone uses Gong Gong as sand shifters. Try the more conventional specimens and it will be safer..

hi there. i'd say go you could try strombus as i keep one in my tank too. it has grown to a scary large size. wish i had a pic to show you. and yes they do dig into the sand most of the day probably eating both detritus and diatoms on sand surface.

In my opinion, using animals like these that turn over substrate slowly and does'nt harm benthic in fauna is better for a healthy sand bed system in the long run.

erm,wat kind of strombus????How big is yur sand grain...mine is #3,u think da strombus can dig????

My sand is c3 & I use 2 strombus, 2 black cukes to clean

Strombus are usually found in fine silty sand flats. I can't say for sure whether he can easily dig through grade 3 but as long as there is organic food source in the substrate it should do fine.

have u tried the sand dollar urchin? around $10 plus henry would have them.. or he HAD them not too sure if he still has stock... might wanna enquire at his section...

btw, i got 1 from him and it's doing a great job!
