Hi, i am currently keeping SPS with my 2 feet tank. I am having 4 tubes of T5 right now. Is it recommended that i buy a 150w MH for my tank? Tank dimension = 2ft x 1.2 ft x1.5ft

Go for 250W or even 400W if you can control the temp well.

150W wouldn't bring out nice colours

I'm running a 250W 10KK + 150W 20KK (balance) in my 2 X 2 X 2.5. Would have gotten 400W if i can get a better chiller

So what are the parts for MH that i need if i DIY??? GOt a question, the rectangular downlight from viclite is it a complete set??? For DIY, i need the bulb, reflector, connector and control gear. Is this true??? For the control gear, does it consists of the ballast???

i guess 200W is really enough for your sps. 150 should also suffice given your tank height but with 200 you can always raise up the fixture and still be applicable for future upgrade of tank. Did you have a better chiller to cope? thats very important given the choice of wattage you are considering.

DIY will mean buying all the spares to assemble yourself. Yes, a complete control gear will have to consists of a ballast. some DIY would also mean the supplier will have the control box assembled for you; with wiring as a bonus.

I suggest you research into the diffrent option available for MH, not just the wattage used. I am not really familiar with MH but i believe there are different ballast system to run certain bulbs. And choosing one system that allows you to work towards your future goals; either for coral growth or colouration or both requires a difrferent kelvin rating. Also the kelvin rating will determine if you need actinic as supplement.

not necessarily. look at what tanu (RC's TOTM Feb) is using here.
