bought formula 2. Yt not eating it. coz it doesn't even come near. only clown eating. haha.

it's still betta to weane ur YT to feed by using frozen first....

u can try buying some Henry's food, or u can try garlic soak ur frozen.... for e.g soakin ur brine shrimp... however, frozen brine shrimp is low in nutrition, this is becos these brine shrimps r already in their adult stage... therefore, u can try like doing ur own mix of food like mixing { brine shrimp + mysis shrimp + fine cut nori + pellets + garlic juice }... if possible, u can get a bar of frozen spinach to mix as well too... :)

salivateforme - how long can you keep a fish in your quarantine tank with those aparatus? wouldn't it have too much nitrates for the fish? so just nori, dried seaweed will be good enough ah? those that kids like to eat??

diabolus - you mean pellet are actually more nutritious than brine shrimp?? what pellets do you recommend??

UFO - mine are the red grapes. hmm. but i still don't see my YT enjoying it thou..

=(

:thanks: bros once again.

A QT is a temporary set-up. Ammonia and nitrite spikes are dealt with by regular water changes. Feed sparingly, siphon out any uneaten food, shit. Buffer with baking soda. Monitor parameters on regular basis.

=======

As diabolus said, pellets are good. Formula 2 is good.

You can try securing a piece of seaweed to a lettuce clip ($3-$5) and place it somewhere near the YT's haunt. Flavor nori with garlic to make it more enticing. Give the YT time to investigate.

i was thinking of blending my own food.. but how do i feed it? its gonna be a food paste i guess.. do i just drop it into my tank like tt??

wat i do was to premix all the frozen (i use the JBL lobster eggs, spinach, marine quintet, krill, PE mysis, drained hikari brine shrimp) + garlic juice + pellets + fine cut nori + cyclopeeze and refigerate them again, using those brine shrimp cubes as template. In this way, it's easier for my mother to help me feed my fishes everyday :)

YIPPEE!!! my YT is finally eating the frozen food. haha. its not even garlic soaked. finally it got close enough to try one, hehe. then it wanted more... wahhaha... yea!!

then i went to get GArlic Guard, and added a few drops to one cube of mysis, and one cube of brine shrimp. then fed some to them, YT came for them again!! yeah!!!

haha

but still wondering how to make them eat the pellets. haha... tough. it seems to sink too fast.... crapz. fishes don't seem interested even after i soaked them in garlic guard. =(

somebody,

YT is a herbivore. u sud still try feed it with nori/seaweed. try to tie yr red grape algae by rubber band to small pcs of rock & feed it to yr YT. observe yr YT & amke sure it's forehead & stomach do not sink in. It may seems to be eating alot of the frozen shrimps but will still lack of the nutrient it needs.

good luck.
