orange monti plate

Hi guys

being a newbe in keeping sps.

I have a orange monti plate however on the underside near the edges there are a portion of white colour. when i brought it i was not that visble

which is around 5 mm surounding the edges of the underside of the plate.

is that the gowth sign of the monti plate

And i keep them around the mid area of my reef is it ok

as i know that monti do not really need much light

The underside of my monti is also quite bare. I have realised that sometimes they encrust, and the encrustation is usually a white material that fuses with the live rock. Might want to observe and see if that is happening.

Are you using MHs? Mid level looks ok if you are. Not too sure about T5s- gotta check with the T5 people.

Bro you got any photos? Difficult to tell by your description.

Monti caps are ok at mid tank with T5s or even on the sand bed if you are using the 54W (4ft) T5s. If using MH can place on sandbed lah.

Nothing wrong with it bro. Look fine and healthy. The lighter colour parts are growth edges. You must be doing the right things. Keep it up

If I may contribute, I believe that is an Arc-Eye Hawkfish (Paracirrhites Arcatus).

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
