A new beginning

Hi Guys,

Like to share with you on my new 3 ft tank.... First of all the location for my 3 ft.... move aside nano tank....

The tank finally arrived..... 3 Feb 2005

The sump.... the right hand side of the sump is the reservoir for auto topup

Have been cycling my tank since 6 Feb 05. Bought around 50 kg of live rocks from a fellow reefer. The LR is full of purple algae

Have been testing the water parameters every few days and the funny thing is the nitrate drop from 10 mg to non detectable as of 25 Feb 2005. Not sure if it is the purple algae or the test kit..

I am using tropic marine test kit for testing NO2 and NO3.

Anyway, added the first member in my tank on 25 Feb 05. The color of the picture taken look different.... the actual color is much more vibrant

See pic, once water level fall, the floating switch will be turn on and the return pump will pump water from the reservior into it. i snap a closer pic and post later

actually i think the reservoir not big enough... water evaporate fast! i have to top up the reservoir every 2 days

i find it fast too.... i think it should be from the cured live rocks i bought from a fellow reefer... u should see his 6ft tank... full of the purple algae

er bro is it safe to add hermits? does it eat fishes?

heard that blue legged hermit are reef safe.... i think fishes will swim faster than the hermit right? anyway i added 3 green chromis yesterday night. Hopefully they are still alive when i go home tonight

bought 3 green chromis on 3 March 05. "Disappeared" till today when they finally reponse to food i thrown in the tank today.
