I made a measurement of the tap water, it reads 8.9.

Is that normally how tap water's pH suppose to be , or do I have a faulty pH pen ?

The tank I have requires 2-3 litres of top up water every day, can that be the reason of the abnormally high pH in the tank ? Currently I just leave the water stand overnight and add straight to the tank without adding anything.

Does Kalkwasser reduce the pH of the tap water ?
