If you want to waste the sand, just wash everything down the sewer hole... :D

If you want to wash the sand, tap water is fine. Stir it in a pail till all the floating debris comes out. If you want to be kiasu, use a strong magnet wrapped in a plastic bag and use it to trap metal particles.

In future, pls spellcheck and no one will be able to misunderstand you!

ie. LSF, you mean LFS right? ;)

I put in big tub to wash.

not those red pail shallow one.

that red pail uncle use one, back-breaking man.

big tub, with bigger surface area good. I do it

outside my flat. pour in water. use a stick to

stir it.

stir..ah..stir.. ah..stir...

1min later, change water.

then stir..ah..stir ah.. stir..

change water again.

till water looks good.

btw, some ppl use magnet to rid the

sands of some metal bits. u may like

to take note. just go over the sands

n see wat stuffs get stuck upz.

oh, yes. after the whole matter, remember

to apply skin moisture. else later wife/gf

complain hands too rough, as bad as sandpaper.

When I first setup my current tank... I used tapwater to wash my tank and then dump in more than 20 bags of sand and used my reeftecs to churn the water/sandbed.... and used filter wool and pumps to strain out the 'rubbish'.

The first time i setup.. i took about 7 times pails of water to clean the sand.. , ANyway if your sand is live sand.. dont wash.. or sure all the live stuff inside the will die,

And also if you want you can make the water a little warm:), to kill any germs that are inside it.. while being transported

Best Regards
