which marine silicon to used

Hi Reefer,

Good morning. I need to re-partition my sump glass and therefore seeking advice

1. how to remove the present silicon on the glass? Using pen knife?

2. Any particular marine silicon is recommend for fast dry and strong bond? Do i need to wait for full 24hrs dry up before able to use?

i use pen knife for mine hee i just removed a compartment just becareful of the water pressure ..

not sure bout the silicon

u shld be able to get it from DC Spore easily. ur purpose is to re-partition ur sump, IMHO, silicon sealants like Aquarium RTV Silicon, Selleys, etc will do the trick. but pls note that no matter what sealant u choose to use, the longer the bonding period, the better it is. normal recommended bonding period shld be btw 2 to 4 wks.

Hmmm.... but i see tank makers glue the silicon the day before nd then next day carry to owner house liao... less than 2 days effort ..
