Why purple tang turn white

Can anyone advise? Is it lack of Iodide or is it stress or what? Very sad. bought for less then 1 week. Now it is not swimming like before, will it die?

i think its becoz of copper. .......

some shop put copper in the

tank.......wat i know copper will

reduce the colour of fish......wat

i normally...is to dip the fish with

fresh water for about 15 - 30 secs

this is to clear the copper and parasite

attach to its body.........

most fishes are caught using cyanide gas..i think maybe the lfs which u buy the fish frm did not quarantine it long enough before selling..

Ammonia level in your tank also stress fish too..

try to quarantine it in a hospital tank.. use "waterlife" myxazin ..cos it can help to reduce stress for new fish....

no other tangs lei.

i am moving it to another tank soon.

still alive todate but no longer the dark purple it used to be. So by dosing iodide is useless?

dun anyhow dose lor...(it is not like trpoical fish)..dun take the risk of losing the precious PT...

try put it in the quarantine tank..it will recover pretty soon...maybe you can try aquapharm "Cure Ich" as well..
