hermit crab will house the empty shell, but dunnoe whether it will eat up the snail in there..

my hermit 'unhoused' my turbo snail..

i don't think it'll eat up the snail, it'll just pull the snail out and leave it to die in the open..... actually once the hermit pull out the snail it'll already be dead and adding to nitrates..

Yup, experience the blue hermits (banned to sump) attacking the turbo snails once they are on the sandbed. another culprit i found out is the picasso trigger. if u have any, could be him. FYI.

When hermit crabs grow larger, they tend to look for new shells. Thats why they attack your snails hoping to "take over" the shell. In some cases, large hermit crabs also attack small snails even though the shell does not fit them. I guess that only happens in desperate times when the hermit crab is dying for a new shell. Just my 2 cents...
