hi,

dived at rottnest 5 yrs back. cold waters ( sometime in apr-may). winter in jun , i think. used the thicker (i think its 8 or 10 mm)diving suit from the operator. ok in water but if out, shaking cold. especially if cold frnt/ wx approaching.

not much for underwater scenery though (personal exp only), should get better info from yr dive operator. cant compare to mersing. most on the action is at NW and NE coact Aus. or go further north along the west coast from perth to get better options.

rmk: 4 weeks after i left there was a white shark :yeah: attack on 1 playing at the cottleslow (spelling???) beach. that's just about 30 mins ride from rottnest. the poor chap lost one leg.

cheap to get good wet suits from there, cheaper than spore. :)

hav a good time there. cheers. :D

wooooah..... its really cold to dive here, even though its summer. I wore at 5/7mm wetsuit with hood... hehe.... but Busselton is such a gorgeous beach! I did a dive off the jetty today and will update some photos when I get back to Singapore...

anyway, a tad bit early but just in case, I do not log in again until I get back...

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR REEFERS!!

Back from my trip! Trust that everyone had a great CNY celebrations? ;)

Here are some photos as promised... *warning* photos are taken by amateur with a lousy digital camera so colors and resolutions may be horrible... hahaha...

Alrighty... 1st dive: Busselton Jetty. Viz: 8 - 10m. I was wearing a 5/7mm wetsuit with hood... still too damn cold to dive! haha...

This place is south of Perth city and its about 1.5hrs drive. The jetty is the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and at the end of the jetty is an observatory which costs $20 to enter. So divers are not allowed to dive too close.... for the obvious reason!

well.... actually.... its just a dolphin! hehe... these photos were taken at Bunbury... 30mins drive from Busselton towards Perth city... apparently.. these wild bottlenose dolphins come in to play everyday!! Who says you'll need to pay to swim with the dolphins?? I took these while they swam right past me... too bad i didn't have my underwater casing with me that morning!
