When u r running an ozonizer, the water will be crystal clear!, remember it is always safer to inject ozone into a skimmer but the skimmer must be ozone-proof. Get a controller for the ozonizer so dat it will eleiminate the problem of overdosing. Its a good tool if u r fighting ICH too.

Downsides are that it will kill everything and anything that comes into contact with it. Good stuff floating in the water and bad, both will be nutrilized. You will need to do regular water changes to keep the bromine (not sure of spelling) levels down as ozone is known to break down the bonds of a certain chemical into bromine. Do not use Al-based PO4 remover with ozone as the Al-based PO4 remover will released certain stuff into the water which will be broken down into toxic components by ozone. Iodine dosing should also not be done for the same reasons.

I was using the red-sea 50mg/hr ozonizer and perfectly happy with it.

hth :)

I remember there's a thread somewhere here or in RC whereby the manufacturers for skimmers like HnS claim that their skimmers are made of plastics that are resistant to ozone...

For those intending to use the Redsea Ozonizer, suggest you get another brand... I used one for less than 6 months and the thing gave way after being "eaten" by the ozone... to tink that the ozonizer should be made with materials that are ozone-proof...

People do not plan to fail; Often they just fail to plan...

Wat I do to prevent myself from tearing my hair out... My stress remedy...

Bro,

just to share my experience with you, I've been dripping about 6 drops of Iodine daily to my tank... and my mushies are doing great... So it seems fine with the iodine after all... :)
