food for Tangs

Anyone care to share where to get nori sheet for tang? I saw those dried round packaging type sea weed you see at chinese medical shop, can be use?

I buy from NTUC the nori use for making sushi roll, those with any other additives.

IMHO, tangs should be left to clear up the algae from the LRs provided that the tank is large enuff to handle the number of tangs you have. No need to supplement the feeding with nori sheets etc etc. Dunt they eat the food that we feed the other fishes too? Like pellets/bs?

True bro, I oso never feed nori, find them too messy. I will usually start my newcomer with frozen prepared food and slowly wean them to pellets which I feel is more convenient.

I feed my tank exclusively on NLS pellets and can see all of them gobble it up greedily. Once a week they will get a treat of frozen foodstuff. Learnt the trick from Weileong, the Tang Master!

Just to share some info i found from http://www.liveaquaria.com about tangs food.

"Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a lettuce clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use...."

Why not just feed those pellets meant for veggies? Anyway, I am not saying that you cannot feed them. Im saying that you dunt need to feed them separately. Algae on LRs are their natural food in the wild.

Me, I like to mixed Flubby's with Henry's and top it up with more nori and cyclopeeze.

Now that flubby has left for the states, I have since convinced another bro who is willing to sacrifice his blender to continue Flubby's saga!

No longer using my own blended foodstuff ever since it ran out months ago. Now using those Hikari frozen stuff for the weekly treats. No added nori etc etc
