looking for best sump tank

everything is almost ready for me onlt findin for a suitable sump..the LFS selling me 2ft by 1ft n height 15'' sump with 3 compartments.. but no matter how look at the sump, is like still short of something... dont know how to discribe tat y feel like lookin at some picture 4 ideas....thank 4 replyin...

Its controversial, different reefers have it different way, so no only and best method

If you can't decide between DSB and refugium. why don't you try DSB with refugum on top ? I don't see any harm in doing that ... ... just that the depth of water for algae to grow is lesser, you need to prone the algae more often.

IMHO number of compartment is not as important as the size of it, if you have the basic three in proportion is good enough as compartments an be shared but size cannot change.

Refugium is one of the better methods has it helps to export nutrients. The best sump you can have is one that is flexible to cater to most methods. Look into the net for sump partition designs of various filtration methods and come up with your own concortion.

Other than that, look into having spray bar and cover that minimise salt spray, some baffle that reduce bubbles from getting into main tank.

have additional space for future upgrades of skimmer

Sump will make up the water volume as well, so considering a bigger sump if got space wld provide better water aeration, be it 3 compartment. IMO

the whole cube is the ref...

1 feet sand with sea grass inside.... supposed to be of mangrove equal....

i ditched the i-ref already.... as it is too small for my tank....
