After much deliberation, I have decided to post my tank pics here so that all the bros in the forum can give me your valuable advice!

I am not a good camerman and do not have a good camera only using Nikon Coolpix 3100.

I had actually wanted to start a freshwater tank after I bought my tank but last minute changed my mind and started on marine aquarium instead! Actually my wife encouraged me one! Really a newbie, so please give me your comments please.

OK, firstly, a picture of my tank.

It is a 4ft by 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft. It has a in-built sump and overflow

Quite pai seh, I think not many bros have this kind of tank right? As Iget more and more into the hobby (or comittment), I think I might have gotten a wrong tank for a marine aquarium! Hope I not too wrong.

A picture of the sump and overflow at the back.

Thanks bro for the compliments. I have been learning a lot from all of you guys and I don't deserve this. I must say I am guilty of not researching before jumping into this commitment/hobby!

I actually started with near zero knowledge of marine reef tanks until I found SRC!

:yeah:

My sun, another of my favorite! Found out that it opens up only if it smells food or dead fish or foul smell. Opening up now because just feed the fish! Smell the food! They open even more intense when the lights are out! BTW, my lights are on from 3 pm - 11pm.

Another of my first corals - but don't know what its name is. Can any bro help me ID it?

Organ pipe, Tubipora musica Check that the tube are not cut off halfway. If not they will not last very long.

The way to select Organ pipe is that all pipes must end on a piece of rock and not by itself.

However, most of them are cut across their pipes rather than collecting them as a whole rock. And without the bottom tubes they will slowly die-off. :D

Last of my first corals. Jewel. Thanks God that they are still with me and I think doing well, are they bros?

Alveopora - Similar to Gonio but more hardy. The difference is in the tentacle tips. The Gonio has 24 while the Alveo have 12. ;) Good choice. :D

bro,

This piece did not end on a rock, 3 months already, how long do you think it will last then?

initially i also aimed for such a rockscape but somehow i can't achieve it...cos rock shape not suitable...jus my luck

but good job!

btw...when did you started stocking up?

I used NSW and cycle for 2 weeks with skimmer on and lights off before introducing the corals and my clown and scooter blenny.

I had no idea about cycling the guy who came to setup for me told me and I follow.. B)
