Location Of Tank

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Gave up the hobby 1 year ago, but will be making a comeback soon. Have a question though, I will be getting a custom made 3ft - 3.5ft tank with a resun CL650 chiller.

Due to the heat & noise of chiller, I intend to place my tank in the balcony, which has a bit of sun light in the late afternoon only. Please advise me if there are other dis-advantage of putting the tank out there, or will sunlight cause problem like brown algae etc..

Thanks in advance.

i agree with putting in living room so that it catches guests attention and its not gd for strong sunlight to shine into your tank if your balcony faces east or west

why?...cos it can first rise temp making your chiller work more than it should

i'm not sure about this point but i believe the sunlight can also cause unwanted algae growth
