Using Mirrrors Instead Of Mh

Recommended Posts

Today I used a mirror to reflect direct sunlight on to my live rock, I was wondering if this is too strong compared to metal halide, or is this acceptable. Mind you the sunlight has gone through a window that has vcool tinting on it and then through the side glass of the aquarium tank. It still looks very bright and my water temp is still maintaining at 27 degrees. Can someone tell me if I can get away withthis setup, so I don't waste money on a MH light or a light timer? Thanks
