I tried yellow tang but infected by ich. wonder how can I get rid of ich.

Like what Limbssg mentioned the Yellow, Purple and Sailfins (Zebrasoma) are the more hardy ones and if you have a yellow with ich, I think you better look into the proper husbandry of yout tank first before even deciding on another tang - especially those from the Acanthurus family. ;)

Do you still have the YT?

What other fishes are you keeping the this tank and their quantity?

How old is this tank?

my tank is abt 6 months old, ls were transfered from old tank. 4 damsels, 3 clowns,1 angel . 1 poly, 1 plata, 1 bubble and 1 button.

You might want to hold for another 2mths before adding another tang. Your tank may not be matured enough. ;)

An interesting way of introducing livestocks I have read in the early 90's issues of FAMA calls for a break of 2mths if your new addition has a outbreak and the rest of the livestocks is still alright.

Dunno whether there's a logical explanation for this but I guess it is always better safe than sorry.

Anyway, recent studies have proven leaving tank fishless for 2mths will kill ich, so if worse comes to worst - try this method. :D

Yeah...leaving tank fishless for 2 months will kill ich....true enough, and it will kill the bacteria too.... I had a bad ammonia/nitrite spike on my anemone tank because of that.

During the fishless time should have continue to throw in one or 2 market prawn to generate ammonia.

IMO Most tangs are prone to itch when they are first introduced to a new tank, UNLESS they are isolated b4 hand.

Will normally clear up by the first week or two. Try garlic supp and algae foods. It'll help get them eating and settled down.

Can I seperate a space by net and let it be quarantine for a week or so, as I afraid it might not get feeded as current fish is very fast when I feed them, scare it might not able to get the food..

i thot tangs are bloody fast in snatching food? :)

Here's sharing what i did,

I bought a couple of rocks of algae to put into the tank when i introduce my tang. (Either red bamboo or the 'grapes'... My YT loved those.) :P

It'll prob last them a couple of weeks... by that time they will be nicely settled down and start snatching food from the rest of the gang.

I dont think by seperating a space by net and let it be quarantine in the main display is advise, the diesease might still be spread to the main tank... Hee... BTW i didnt quarantine my tang... just choose the healthiest and brightest color one, provide it with my best care and hope for the best! HAHAHAA!

garlic soaked food helps, YT are good to start with from my experince.

chilling or a fan in lowering temperature helps.
