dude - screw them.

Yes......remove as many as u can, crush the remaining with a screwdriver, rinse off with saltwater and then super glue the affected areas as an additional measure....

i have no personal experience with these creeps though, the instructions are from other experienced reefers.....

have to monitor closely..even when u think u have got rid of them, they just keep coming back. like wat bro creetin mentioned..screw them!!

one point to note.. please DO NOT use the fresh water dipping method, u'll kill the monti...

I lift up my monti every 3 days to check and destroy

The trick is to be diligent - 3 days is for cases where the nudis have fallen back in numbers, if u are on the beginning phase (when u discover one or two, it will mean more than ten of them have already been ###### the monti flesh away, underneath the corals)

I tot i destroyed most of them when i killed a whole bunch during the first 2 days, lifting the montis and killing the ones i could spot. Little did i know the buggers had probably layed a dozen eggs elsewhere, cause i just killed another batch of em, barely 3 days later...

Do it now, lift them out of the tank and kill every single one EVERY DAY...

you know what..I just unplug one of my monti I have not checked for near to 2 weeks....found 20 small nudi all over....Result?

Sigh no choice - my monti arent really large in the beginning, so after mashing and gluing those suspicious spots, there isnt really much of the coral left...

Yr piece must be large to have 20 of em without being spotted!

If only i could lay my hands on a laser pen or some nifty contraption...POOF! No more bloody nudis...

For you guys who have been having monti nudis problem, do you have any fishes that pick on parasites and creatures from LR? Fishes like dwarf angels, small wrasses and dottybacks?

I feel that it is natural to have monti nudis, especially montis harvested from the wild as that is the natural food source for them. I know I do or at least reefers who checked on my montis tell me so. But I don't see my montis greatly affected by them (so far at least ). Pygmy angels, some wrasses and dotty backs I find continuously pick on the LR and coral bases. While they do not eat up the nudis, I think they keep them in check and prevent them from infesting your corals. The same goes for flat worms or red bugs. These fishes peck on anything that moves on the rocks and I think this reduces the potency of these parasites.

Well this is purely my own opinion and experience, and not based on any research or what. For the record I have 3 dwarf angels (Flame, Potter's and Multicolour), 2 Orchid Dottybacks and numerous wrasses (4 leopards, 2 banana/yellow/canary, and previously 1 six line)

looks like its getting more useful. Got him for my clams, now if he will just attack nudis, would be really good.

i got this problem before but resolve after i got my juv yellow wrasse.. hope it will not peck at my corals when it turn into adult
