Washing Of Grade 0 & 1 Sand

As above? Do I have to wash grade 1 & 0 sands. They are REALLY fine.

jus wash my #0 sand not too long ago...bot from p*tm*rt...they are rather clean

1st wash

have to wash lah..

remember to put in a piece of strong magnet inside..

u'll be amazed by the amount of metal stuff inside.

i never use magnet becos it looks very satisfactory to me...

maybe diff batch hav diff sh*t in it...my batch is very clean & dun look 'polluted'.

problem is after using the magnet...

those metal particles dat attched to my magnet are those grain size black stuff..

meaning to say it could very well be the black thing u tot is the sand.

since copper might be harmful...i rather be safe than sorry.

Oh no... Probably you can bring your sand to the car scrap yard and use those huge electromagnet to get rid of all the metal praticles in your sand. Sure very clean one!

yap, Petm*rt sand is really clean..........washed my 15 bags of size 0 sand. back ache now......

but magnet only will attract iron fillings or small pieces right? copper will not get attracted by the magnet right?

True. I guess washing of sand till the water is clean would be enough. Put activated carbon after introducing the sand to absorb heavy metal?

I posted a review on why you should wash your sand before the virus wiped out the last forum.

Here is a photo of a very small fraction of what I got out from each bag of sand also from petmart. It was enough to build 5 2 inch nails per bag.

OMG! Other then a magnet, are there any ways to remove them? How will it affect the tank.
