Hey Bros,

Sharing some pixs of my humble hdb abode.... staying in Jalan Batu now after marriage (Mountbatten Area)... So good to have ur own place... :D:lol:

Five room flat (129sqm).... The flat used to be a one-room flat but was converted to four, five & EU units in 1986.... I got mine in the open market last year.. Some units were left vacant and was released for sale only last year.... so lucky me and my wife....

I hv lots of african artifacts... so naturally, my house theme is African...

Here's the little niche (supposedly the dining area) which I convert to a TV area...

Cosy corner.... Yeah, the tv is a loan set from Sony.... juz bought a 29" but less than a month... it kapok (jumpy images).... so Sony toll it back for servicing...

That's a real zebra hide.... yeah, not a normal zebra somemore... it belongs to a rare subspecies known as the Burchelle's Zebra (Mountain zebra).... has shades of brown and cream as compared to the normal black and white... unique centrepiece...

And yeah, those on the TV rack are African Nedele Dolls...

Yup... closer inspection of the glass shelf... u will see my lego collection!

Believe it or not, I got them free many years back.... tried my luck and wrote a letter to Lego when I saw these beautiful castle series (collector item from 1970-80s) in three acrylic cylinder. These cylinders were more than 2 meters tall and were in display at Tampines Toy R Us... where the Lego boxes are displayed....

I ask Lego to let me take all the pieces inside and let me fill them up with normal bricks.... Amazingly, Lego called me in one week's time and told me they are actually clearing that 3 cylinders and it is so timely that I wrote to them... I can take all three cylinders FREE! No need to refill...

Wah.... 200+++ swords, 100+++ lion shields... haha.... of course over time, I gave away the other bricks and keep only those castle series.... Now got enough to build this....

Below the Lego collection are stuff I collected and animal parts I preserved when I was with the zoo...

Can see lion claws on the left, a warthog tusk, a crocodile egg and tooth.... some exotic feathers and stuff....

Really miss the zoo... sigh....

Eagle-eyed people can have a glimpse of how I look in the newspaper cut out... yeah, before I left the zoo as training manager, I was also assisting in taxidermy and skull preservation..... Fun!:D

Very nice. Good to have your own world. I can appreciate this !

Where do you get all those African stuff from? Do you work in Africa before?

I married an African wife.... NAY! :D:lol::D

No lah... started collecting them way back.... Never been to Africa but love the place because of the culture and animals there....

Some bought fm internet, some from friends (who went to Africa)...

Mostly, I got more into it when I was at the Zoo when they were doing the Ethiopia Experience landscaping....
