hm i'm not mistaken yes

needa cycle

but i'm not too sure

wat i advice is no need setup hospital tank as u wun haf enough time plus netting them out will stress them making their condition worse

now exercise 48hr black out and feed 3 times a dae with food soaked in garlic

if u got UV then set it up...it'll help

this method saved my fishes frmo ich twice and saved my friend's one once so it should work

Garlic-laced food works. I've tried it. No other medication and my precious yellow tang is still alive...:)

Always acclimatise new lifestock properly so as to reduce stress. Some sensitive fish (like Tangs) are vulnerable to ich when put under stress.

best treatment is to find the source n remove the source...

cld be due to alot of reasons like stress, overstocking, poor water parameters, new fish

as long as they still feed, dun bother them, feed them gd food with garlic to boost their immune system.... that's a long term situation

there r some reef-safe treatment u can consider, worth a try if the situation is critical... this is a short term situation

it might be worth getting a couple of cleaner shrimp in the meantime...

Check out the Disease & Treatment Forum, you will find lots of info on Hypo-salinity and how to do it. :D

There is only a few proven ways to eradicate ich! You will find the neccesary info there.

Good luck....

ic.... will the corals die without light for 2 days? i'll prbly try that tonight....

my elegance juz died few days ago...... and my fish got serious ich subsequently. i will try this out tonight.. started on garlic yesterday, but i suppose the boost in immunity won't be immediate.

NH3 no2 zero....

nitrate previously zero 2 wks ago.. ran out of test kit.... i'm doing a freshwater dip for my PBT.... few times since this morning.. less spots as far as i can see... but the fish doesnt look good....

thanks for everyone's help

I think you better read the follow 2 links before you decide what you plan to do next. ;)

What is Ich????

What is Hypo-Salinity

If after reading the 2 links and you are still not conviced - I rest my case, do it whatever ways you want. ;)

:) thanks bro for the links. these are 2 very useful articles. i believe hyposalinity is the most effective method in treating an ich-infected fish but i still wasn't very confident of setting up a quarantine tank.

The uncle at one LFS suggested freshwater dip to treat ich. this is one of the treatment options briefly discussed in http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-10/sp/feature/ . i studied other options but i thought just to give it a try and hope for the best. :D

thanks for sharing :)

Hi,

Is your main tank mature enough to support livestock?

If not, I suggest to stop buying any at the moment.

May also need to do some water change if the nitrate/nitrite is too high.

previously my tank was stable with all the bioload i thought. until i replaced my sump one week ago. then problems start. one coral died shortly and fish start getting ich.... wont add more fish until all of them recovers.

will do a water change soon as you suggest. :) thanks for your input

FW dip too long can bring stress to some delicate fishes.. i had try hypo and my tang looks beta now.. ;) the faster u treat, the earlier u can save ur fish.. all the best~

just an update.... :)

my PBT didn't make it. eyes were already cloudy when i decided to treat. it prbly had some other infection too.

tuned up the ozone last night. got no UV steriliser. shortened the photoperiod. gave garlic soaked pellets. and to my pleasant surprise. less ich now. may be temporary

thanks for everybody's contribution

one observation - ich gets worse at night. anyone experience this also?
