what lightningstrike means is that...using non-pressure rated pumps will shorten the longevity of the pumps.

it is a matter of when  ;)

thanks for clearing the air, roidan. ;) a high end non-pressure rated pump like the Royal-Exclusiv Red Dragon wld be prone to failure when used with the wrong applications.

Wah scary man if Rio can be used for Beckett, means prices of becketts will start tumbling. :yeah:

actually can is can.....

the startup cost as well as running cost of small becketts will make it very attractive compared to small needlewheel counterparts, using these Rios :)

given that nowadays there is a trend of giving up this hobby quite fast, probably the rios can last just long enough before this happens for the beckett user.

yeah....red dragons have failed to conquer the beckett over a long period of time. Rios? hmmmm, let's be optimistic ;)

Then the Rios should have a new marketing slogan:

"To go where dragons failed to tread"

as long as rio can do the job and if it last long enough, factoring in replacement cost and electrical bill, to bring the total cost down when compare to pressure-rated pump.... why not?

yeap....especially when nowadays interest for this hobby breaks down probably faster than the pump

anyway, how useful a pump in beckett usage is best measured by the water flow rate just after the beckett injector....

otherwise, you can measure air flow suction of the beckett injector chamber as this air flow is induced by the water flow rate through the injector also :)

hmmmm...... u hv a point there, but for me...... anything to keep murphy away will be a blessing. nowadays, pressure rated pumps like resun r also priced competively. :)

hey zorden...for me a big draw to rio is its high flowrate with low elec consumption and cheap

however if i had a small tank and eheim can provide me with the flowrate i need, i'd go for eheim cos QC is very gd and u can rest well without worrying bout the pump
