Hard Plastic Racks....

Recommended Posts

Yo.... my neighbour threw away these.... which he used for his gardening.... one piece can support a huge pot of small palm tree.... so it shows how strong it is...

Upon close examination, it looks like the sort of plastic used in making black AC fans (used in PCs)....

What do u guys think? Can I use it in replacement of egg crates as support for my DSB?

Thanks....

One last question.... technically, If I am doing my rack support and I am using PVC pipes, do I need a bottom eggcrate to spread out the weight pressure of the live rocks.... or can I just let the rack rest on four PVC legs alone....

If my rack is on PVC legs alone, doesn't this increase the weight points on the PVC legs and in doing so, add acute stress points on my bottom glass?

Thanks.

I'm not using racks but instead brought huge amount of dead rocks to act as the base and hopefully in time they will mature and become live rocks....

anyway, I'm using pieces of 6mm aycril to cover the entire based of the tank....i'm afraid that i might accidentally drops rocks on to the bottom of the tank and crack it... :P
