Which Tang suitable?

Yo! Can anyone give a summary on what type of algae certain tangs eat? Esp the brown ones on walls and rocks..Heard you need a bristle tooth form the cten(sth) family right? Wat bout YT? Thx!!!

YT ? not a chance, at least not mine

Kole , orange shoulder, those tang that natural diet includes diatom might eat ....

but dont count on it to save on the magnetic cleaner but the sure leave cute lip marks on the glass

I see... What does YT eat then? Or any Tangs from Zebrasoma genus eat? Thx for helping out! Cos Kole more ex leh,then not as colorful as YT..

my yellow & brown tang picks on the brown algae on the wall occasionally.

Ha, ha, just to my surprise, my 2 angels actually do all the tank glass wall cleaning job for me. Mr. Rusty and Mr. Stripes. And they are very very hard working.

But these 2 fishes are quite difficult to keep right? And not remember wrongly, I have never seen it in any of the LFS visited.

Kole is easier than chevron i think. Irwana always have shipments of kole and chevron...

btw,,, reagarding which tang is suitable...in my opinion, if u feed yr tangs alot, dun coutn on them to eat algae cos they'll jus wait for u to feed.

u wan them to work to clean yr glass....then control yr feeding

these two factors play an important role into seeing whether you can keep the Chevron in your tank.

Difficult to keep or not, not sure. But done some market survey, the chevrons' price is closing to $100!!!

Bro, if you are not picky, then get an algae blenny.Will clean ur tank for you guranteed.

Hi! Thx for advice guys! My tank been bout 3 mths plus. Got 1 six-line+2 Clown fish. Going for Fish and Hardy inverts+some low light corals. After all the advice,think i'll get a algae blenny instead. Thx!!
