Prizm Skimmer

I am using it, one each for my two 2fter in the office. Just upgraded from the Sanders Piccolo. Initially I was only able to skim salt water, but later I found the thread teaching me how to set it correctly. Now I am able to get thick green tea like skimmate. But still no kopiO ones.

From the post in the forum, some people like it while some don't. Personally I do think it is a little expensive, $188. The accessories are ex too ($30+ for the surface skimmer and $20+ for the carbon canister). I just found out today that I can get a weipro 2011 and a pump at a cheaper price (but I am having some problem with it currently with the settings...)

Basically, the good thing about the skimmer is that it is compact and save space. It don't look too bad hanging behind my tank, can add to the water flow in the tank too. The down side is the price tag. You decide.

Hope this helps.

HI anybody here using the prizm hang on skimmer and can post how the performance like :thanks:

hey you have to tell us how much stock your tank is and how big is your tank.......

I have use prizm before,IMo this skimmer can never really achieve the effect of kopi- O and usually skimmate is rather wet and thats the bad point of it..........

Good point is that this skimmer is rather elegant and class in design thus more suitable to nano tank............

I just bought a Prizm too.

Initially, I was skimming a lot of saltwater because I allow too much water flow. After adjusting the water flow, I was able to see brownish stuff being skim out the very next day.

I think Prizm is great for people who have space constraint like me (i have a 2 ft tank). I only think I dont like about it is the manual (dont know why they call it a manual??)

yah.. i also want to know...

Sorry for the late reply guys. I know that Pe* Ma** at serangoon sells it. The shop at west coast (I think is ML) also sells the accessories. But I don't think you need them. The carbon canister is only needed if you are using ozone with your skimmer. The surface skimmer don't really work for tanks that do not have a stable water level.
