What is the daily Ca/Alk consumption rate

Hi, reefers,

I drip kalk water for my 50gal tank. Daily dosage of kalk is 1 tsp in 2L of freshwater + 10ml of vinegar. But it is seems that it can't meet my tank Ca/Alk consumption rate.

My tank paramaters tested by Salifert:

Mg : 1350

Ca: 320 (having difficulty to push it up)

Alk: 9 dKH

Tank vol: 50 gal

Corals: around 24 pcs of LPS + 3 SPS + a fast growing 6 inches Derasa clam + 3 inches clam + a lot of baby coco worms in the sump.

According to seachem website: my kalk dosage will roughly raise calcium by 12 mg/L. So I just wonder is 12ppm daily Ca consumption rate consider high? My reef tank Alk consumption is around 1 dKH daily.

What is the daily Ca/Alk consumption rate for your reef tank?

i wld say u need to invest in a pretty soon since ur kalk dripping regime could no longer keep up with that of ur corals' intake.

you can try the calcium chloride additives to boost the level first then resume your normal dosing rate. CaCl contain more calcium than the kalkwasser. If not, maybe u need a CR liao.

you got a lot of calcium sucker...... difficult to compare here 'cos lifestock varies with tank.
