and also the babies... =)

OK, here goes ... the parent and three kids ... B)

I also need some advise. The parent Pink Yuma is current resting on the sandbed - about 2.5' from the MH 250W BLV 10KK DE.

Is this too much light for it? Not sure if I should shift it to a slightly more shaded position.

What's your advise?

:thanks:

General rule for yumas...keep them away from direct light...best in a more shady area with gentle flow.

You are not running 150W, 250W can even bleach or burn LPS.....please consider. ;)

And this one with actinic only. :snore:

Sorry, this wasn't taken well.

Wow... there's nothing to be sorry about... I love looking from the top down cos you can see the real brillant colours of the corals. :)

Bro wa_lanz, I too lazy to off the pumps lah ... so just rushed to snap the pix lor ...

And you're quite right about the lack of space for SPS. My original intention was for a mixed reef and SPS was not meant to be the dominant corals as I still like LPS and softies very much.

The problem with those SPS that I buy from LFS is that it comes with a "plug" base that makes arranging difficult ... well, at least for me it is difficult. It's also a waste of space too. So I'm thinking of doing something about it.

bro williammuk,

care to share some close shot of ur hood? thinking of diy something like urs ;)

u using 14kk with actinic supliment?

is the tunicate still surviving?

anyway very nice tank u have there.  :peace:

Hi, thanks.

I'll try to get some hood photos for you. Now I don't have it on hand.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I had changed my lights from Phoenix 14KK

to BLV 10KK about four weeks ago. The actinics are still there.

From my limited experience, I found that different Kelvin has an impact on the

colours of SPS. When I was using 14KK previously, my reds, pinks, blues,

purples were turning brown gradually. The yellow acros were turning green.

After changing to 10KK as an experiment for two weeks, I observed that the

pinks, blues and purples are slowing returning. :yeah:

Now I'm into the fourth week of 10KK, I can observe that my reds are also

returning. But the green acro is slowly returning to yellow.

As for the Blue Tunicate, it is not as stable as I'd like them to be. It occasinally

cycles between being beautifully expanded to become a lump of blue mass;

and then back to it's full glory again. I don't know if it'll last.
