Trip to Singapore

I am flying in from Auckland, New Zealand on Friday night (27/5/05) for the Aquarama. I will fly out on Sunday 29/5/05 evening (5-ish) to catch a flight back to Auckland. In the short space of time, could someone please advise me where would be the best shops to visit for hardware? I am not sure where I'll be staying but my guess is it'll be close to the airport. What are the hours of the LFSs generally? Any input will be greatly appreciated. I also do not know my way around Singapore and will be travelling by public transport. :thanks:

Woohoo!!! I have my air ticket! See you guys on the 27 May. Can you recommend a good but reasonably priced hotel near the Expo for the Aquarama? I have 27-29 May and am looking forward to the expo and visiting some LFS. And many thanks to all you who have given me your input and your generous offers.

You are welcome to view my tank on http://community.webshots.com/user/liverock101

hm.. from what I remember from my past experience with aquarama is that there's nothing much to see... I rather go to the fish farms and LFSes...

Let us know what you are looking for and perhaps some of us can bring you around... would be much better than trying to go at yourself and getting "chopped" (quoted overly high prices)...

Would love to go to new zealand some day though.. hehe...

U can try Le Meridien Changi Village Singapore. http://www.lemeridien.com/singapore/changi...el_sg1669.shtml

Map: http://www.streetdirectory.com.sg/mapsize2...89.3158;&star=1

Address: 1 Netheravon Road, Singapore 508502

Phone: (65) 6379-7111

U may wish to call them for rates.

Just want to let u know that a cab ride from the central of Singapore to the Airport/Expo area takes less than 30min. I feel that u will have more choices for hotels if u choose to stay at the central district.

Some useful links for u:

very nice tank! I love the natural look...

If you are looking for equipments, its good that you note down what equipmets you are interested in. From then on, we can advise you where to purchase them. LFSes in Singapore don't stock a variety of equipments. For example, Aqua-Medic products can only be purchased at Aqua-mart located at Lavender and H&S skimmer can be purchased at Sealife at Balestier.

Yeah, I have now up to May to make a list of equipment I wanna see. Thanks for the tip, Ekia .

And the attached list is awesome, Alanseah. Most detailed. Many thanks.

My PBT is about 6" or maybe slightly more. And so is my Purple Tang. I have other tangs; Clown, Blue & 2 Yellows.

Where would be a good place to look for Tunze Stream and Seios? Also, I would be interested to look at MH bulbs, light fixtures (T5s).

Tunze Stream - Balestier Road (7th from the top of table) or Reef Depot

Seios - Lots of places are selling them at a reasonable price. Can't remember if the Balestier shop is selling. You can also go to Reborn just down the road, 5 mins walk. Reborn sells lots of addictives at a good price too.

I'm not too sure about MH bulbs (T5 user here  )

For T5 fixtures, are u looking for local DIY made or german models? There's quite a huge price difference.
