Complaint on Red Sea Ozonizer

Hi all

my story goes :

Bought a Redsea Aquazone Ozonizer from a LFS about 6 months ago... apparently distributed by Qian Hu...

When I 1st bought it, the unit was faulty and I had to bring it back to change for a new one... the 2nd unit was okay...

Subsequently, after using for about 6 months or less, one of the blue sockets behind the unit for pumping ozone out has disintergrated after being "eaten" by the ozone....

I'm pretty shocked as normally a unit as such would be made using ozone-proof materials/plastics that would last easily more than 1 year.

I got a LFS to check for me if the blue socket can be replaced and was told by the LFS owner that the representative from Qian Hu said they dun sell spare parts.

I den got the LFS to give me the representative's handphone number and I called the person to request for help.

The representative den said that he gotta check if there are parts available and would get back to me the next day. More than 4 days has since passed! No reply at all...

Next :

A fellow friend of mine bought the same unit as me and encountered the same problem, took the unit home and found that it wasn't working, I suspect that the agent could have sent the same unit I rejected to the LFS that he bought it from...

If not, why would there be so many faulty units around? Too coincidental... based on my opinion, as there aren't many reefers around who buys ozonizers...

The unit was den returned to the LFS and after dat the representative from Qian Hu refused to replace it, saying that the unit was working... giving the excuse that you should not be able to smell the ozone, which IMO is utter rubbish... I'm using a unit myself and the smell of ozone is almost over-powering when you turn the unit on....

In view of the unreliable performance of the product and a representative ( company? ) who isn't too keen on customer service, I'm writing this to sound out the fellow reefers out there who intends/wish to buy this product! I learnt a lesson, and you wouldn't want to be in the same shoes as me!

bro, are you using Red Sea air dryer unit to remove all moisture from the input air?

is your model : Red Sea AquaZone Plus >a top quality redox controller featuring a range of 0-1999 mV, a ±1 mV accuracy, and a backlit LCD display?

What is the cost? i am looking into redsea Ozonizer too. Thanks for your review ! :thanks:

Then you complain about your Red sea O3 and tell him about poor service from Qian Hu.

Many months ago I had problem with my prizm skimmer that the motor housing broke by itself after 3 days and no one chap me despite many calls to qian hu and the dealer. They tell me they don't even sell spare parts even if I am willing to buy a new motor.

End up Paul settled the problem for me and qian hu replaced a new motor for me FOC.

i do not own an ozoniser, but i do hv a wavemaster pro from Red Sea. gave up on me twice when i was in japan. brought it down to Petmart to get it repaired. in the end, petmart replaced the whole unit F.O.C for me. that's what i call after sales service. much is dependent on where u purchase ur equipment.

Yeah... maybe the fact that Petmart sells alot of Redsea products does have an impact... :)

Bro Rav......don mean to hijack Ur thread but just want to share my experience with bad customer service......

when i was running my 3-footer...i had a resun cl350 for a chiller . one day the after 6 months of using the chiller went bonkers.....since Tung Hu was the one who brought it in...so i called them. they told me that for repair i have to call the dealer who sold it to me which was HAWAii at yishun...when i call they told me that the unit woill be out of service for at least 3 days depending on when its collected...want faster then send urself the said.....i arguably told them that it would definitely take about a week before i can get the chiller back if i were to wait for them...& i have no time to send down asap also....

anyway....so i called an air-con repair company EVERTECH-AIRCON who really...really claim that they can repair any chilling equipments including my chiller...so...a technician came down..access the problem & told me that since there are no inlet to pump new gas he suggested to modify the capilary tubing (this one carries the gas to cool the medium to be cooled), remove old gas & pump in new gas....@$120/- all-in with 6 months warranty....

I said ok & he proceeded with the repair & modification.....then i left for work....when i came back & fix up the unit it was running but it will not turn off...then i found out that he test run it dry without pumping in water so he came back the next day & did it correct......after 1~2 weeks of using i discover that instead of being hot the compressor was cold & condensation is forming around it, cousing some water puddles on the base of the chiller unit....overflowwing out even to the cabinet.....

This is where the problem start......i called them again tellin them the problem since they gave me 6 months of warranty....the lady on the other line (it was always the same lady who answered my calls...don know why) told all sorts of bullshit eg...not enough technician lah....schedule tight lah..blah...blah..blah....

thsi went on for almost two month even after i bought a new Pacific Coo chiller....there was even a time that i was sooo pissed of that i even threaten to make a police report.....still they `bo chap' me.....#@%Y&^%$&

its more that a year now...the resun chiller already sold at $50......not happy but better this than my Mdm make noise of the mess Im making with this hobby....

Sooo.....to all my fellow reefers out there....even for your aircon unit at home......remember this company.....EVERTECH-AIRCON........
