Sponsor dr evil Posted January 9, 2005 Sponsor Share Posted January 9, 2005 Hi bro, Just wanna check on which brand of epoxy do u use? Currently using im using the follwing, Brand: Loctite (Quicktite Gel) Good for small frags. Dry very fast after gluing but comes in a supper small tube. Brand: Selleys ( Knead It) For larger colonies. Like a rock when hardern. Just got another brand from Wessbond. Another commercial epoxy that state that it can use on wet surface and underwater. Have yet to try them. Do u guys have any comment on this product? If u guys interested in it, do let me noe. It comes in a 12pcs in a box. Pretty reasonable price for the a "large" tube. I use any type of superglue gel tt I can get cheap. More or less the same with all As for epoxy i find stanley kneadit, not good for colonies as it tends to seperate under water. I'll stick to tunze or deltec. Never try wessbond before. How much a tube? May get 1 to try

Gouldian
Hi guys, I have arranged with DE to test on this Epoxy on my tank's leakage problem coming Saturday. Will post after the "test of fire". Thank you once again Dr Evil, you have been one of the most helpful senior I have ever met. Although you could have left the problem to me to solve by myself since it is of no fault of yours but it was obviously on your mind that you call be at 8+am the next day although we finished our stuffs at closed to 1am the night before to voluteer your solutions. This goes to shows that you genuinely care and have interest in all aspect of your customers' tank! Thanks again, see you this Saturday. Gouldian
Hi Reefers, As per agreed, Dr Evil came to my place on Saturday to seal up the leak. So here's the step my step pictogram. First of all the leak. It came from the gasket, joining the two pipes. Why the gasket is there in the first place - only god knows. Gouldian
The Product without the packaging. Green outside and white inside, just cut and start kneading unlike those that are two seperate compound. Gouldian
After knead the epoxy will turn white, its an indication that it is properly mixed and ready to bond. Gouldian
Overall I must really thank Dr Evil for helping me with my leaky tank! All of us know, Dr Evil is specialized in lighting and he could have just leave it to me to solve the problem myself. But I think he pity me as someone on technically incline and decided to help. Anyway, back to the Wessbond. Although it is not colored purple like some brand but for the price, I feel that it is well worth the money!
