does it have anything to do with the worsening algae problem (diatom bloom??) that i'm having now?

(btw, the tank is 2ft n almost 2mths old.... got one clarkii, one anemone, one tubeworm n one damsel)

white patches means that the coraline algae died and left a white patch is it? i'm not sure but i think that when corlaine dies, they leave a white patch where they use to be..

does the algae dying mean that the LR will not be "live" anymore? or the beneficial microrganisms inside the LR will still continue to live despite the algae dying?

one more thing, i've been noticing frequent, powderish "secretions" from my LRs, is this normal? what is happening?
