:nuke: can but do it at your own risk.... chances are that the water will turn abit cloudy and sand will be blown around since u have PHs in your tank... worst case senario: corals/fish die :cry:

Should be ok. I did to mine and fortunately everything is well and good. But i spend the whole day to do it cause its milky and U need them to settle down before rearranging everything. I took out every single rock. Cant capture my yello, purple tank, wrasse and few other fishes.

Put all corals in a basin with air bubbles for oxygen..

Well the rule is never do anything drastic at one go. If you want to add sand to become DSB, I would say do it weekly, add in a few cup a week, very tideous, but in that way you will be making very minimum changes to the sand bed. This is what I did for my 4 ft tank, slow and easy... Don't even need to remove any rocks or fish...
