Six Line Wrasse - aggresive fish

Hi Bros,

Pls beware of your six line wrasse. It's a very aggresive fish. I had one and so far,

he has killed two of my green wrasse and seriously injured my fairy wrasse.

It may act aggressively towards peaceful Wrasses and other fish that are easily intimidated.

my six line wrasse is a friendly fish leh.

So far, I see that it is only aggressive towards it's own kind and leave my other fishes alone.

One thing strange is that it can tolerate the presence of my yellow wrasse, but treat the green ones as it's enemy...?

I have got a 6-line wrasse too. Not very friendly to other occupants of the tank. Very greedy and inquisitive.

Read somewhere that it should not be kept with any other wrasse or similar looking fishes.

Good starter fish and very hardy.

hm.. I have one and it lives in a world of it's own leh... never seen it bother any other fishes... pretty cute IMO

Mine killed new wrasse that I tried to introduce too... tried 2 times all murdered.

Just up ever since. Don't seems to bother other fishes though.

Just for fun, try the mirror trick and observe your 6line... wah lau it fights like thai boxers! ruthless!

funny mine was the other way round. My green wrasse bullied my six line wrasse all the time. Even got curfew to swim in the tank - otherwise, the green wrasse will peck it till it hide. My six line was pretty peaceful...

I think some of the wrasses are very territorial /agressive species and it depend on which type u put into the tank first. Some websites seem to contradict alittle - some say agressive and others say peaceful.

But my six line wrasse can really jump - mine pop out of the tank and end up on my printer.... think he was trying eat the pellet float and overshot its target...

My sixline also very aggressive. It chased and killed a fairy wrasse.

Also chase my twin-spot hogfish for some time but now become good friends lor.

It seems that it is only aggressive towards its own kind or other timid fishes with a similar body shape.
