what's the main diff from my indian one?

In general- the pattern in the eyes of indian black and hawaii black trigger differs. In the indian, the lining run from top of eye, across the eyes and below the eyes where else the lining in the hawaiian run onyl from top of the eye to the eye.

Next, in general most indian black are brownsih green close to black where else most hawaiian are pitch black with lminous blue pattern.. However the one you have seem to be also pitch black :lol:...

Also, semi adult to adult hawaiian black has streamers on the tail something like what achilles tang has where else indian trigger tail is roundish like a cresent.

lastly, hawaiian black gets up to 30cm long where else indian gets to only abt 20-25cm long.

Hopefully the tail become like this someday ;)

My Niger had already developed its streamers :P:P

You guys really tempt me to get one of the blackies, be it Indian or not

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

To me, you will be unique in all the world.

To you, I shall be unique in all the world...

odonus are not true niger.. they are different family from the melichthys... Reason why some ppl add odonus to their reef becos its one of the less aggressive trigger out there(however no way compared to xanthichthys and melichthys, these are trigger wimps  )...Howevere there are some odonus that gets too aggressive and bossy so i will nv try this fish. If i am not wonr, bro blueheaven has one odonus niger in his tank ;)

hmmm did a search and quite surprised at wat i found...

A 90 gallon or larger aquarium with rocks and caves provides a good habitat for the Hawaiian Black Triggerfish, however, it will tend to rearrange the landscaping and rocks.

The Hawaiian Black Triggerfish needs a varied diet of meaty foods including; squid, krill, clams, small fish and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever growing teeth

would it nip on clams and kill it??

do update us on the progress of the trigger k k? ;)
