Hi guys, if i wan to set up, is it that i add water, anti-chlorine and marine salt and run the water? for some time before i add in liver rocks?

And if i were to add in live rocks in batches will there be any side effects? is it only recycling only?

And for a 2*1*1.5 tank... wat lighting do i need to use if i intend to keep a mixture of corals from soft, lps and sps?

Thanks

i think no nd to add anti-chlorine, just put a power head and let it run from 1-2 days.

there will be no side effects i suppose  i think the cycle will restart when new LRS are added.

its good if you can add some medications to get rid of chloride, this is wat i do...

1) wash the tank properly.

2) wash the sand(i put in a strong magnet to get rid of all the metal bits found in the sand, you'll be amazed how much is in a sack of sand)

3) fill the tank to the level that you want.

4) add in salt, test with a hydrometer.

5) add in sand to the level that you want.

6) add in live rocks.

7) add in a powerhead for circulation.

And if i were to add in live rocks in batches will there be any side effects? is it only recycling only?

Its best that you add in uncured liverocks all at the same time, otherwise any addition of uncured LRs will cause an ammonia spike which will be detrimental to your tank especially when its in the infancy stage and there are LS. Adding in cured LRs after cycling stage is ok.

for a tank with a 1.5ft depth, you can either go for T5s or a 150w MH.
