Boxer Shrimp - the culprit?

Hi,

Read from most sites that boxer shrimps are reef-safe but on LiveAquaria it is mentioned that they may nip corals and anemones open to eat the undisgested food. Just want to hear from your guys what's your opinion, because I have a suspicious encounter. :(

Had a plate coral doing well for 2 weeks. 1 morning found it overturned and dropped on the sandbed (was on a rock previously), so something must have done it. Since then, the coral dont open and die off. So I wondering now...is my boxer the culprit?

According to those whom owns plate coral. Plate coral will move if they're not satisfy with the location that they're placed. This could explain the reason why your plate coral end up upside down when it fell of the LR.

Also, I don't think the boxer shrimp is able to push the heavy plate coral down from the LR.

OH! didnt notice plate coral will move itself. But still dont understand why a single overturn will kill it... too bad I forgot to examine it carefully to see if any nipping is done. :(
