Hi,

I am currently have 2 x 150w MH in a 5.5ft length x 3 ft tall tank.

I am thinking of upgrading them so that I can have more success in keeping clams and perhaps some SPS [in the somewhere in the middle height].

Besides selling away my hanging acardia 2x150mh to get a 400w, what are the options available ? Does anyone knows if T5 comes in 5ft ++ length ? If so, can I add the T5 to the side of my tank so that it will not cover my MH ?

please advise. thanks :)

joey.

aquamarin does have 5ft light but in t8. guess u might be able to modify them to t5 else u can easily diy a 5ft holder..

i have my mh behnd my tank followed by the t8 light in front.

other suggestions will be to raise the height of your dsb.

u selling 2x150 to get a 400w? 1 400w might not be sufficient for your tank size.

Hi,

I did a search on web and it seems like there are T5 tube for 60"

http://www.thegoldfishbowl.co.uk/lighting_t5.html

Is T5 better than T8 ?

T8 are bigger rite and by putting them in front of your MH, would that obstruct your MH ? how many T8 do u have in front of your MH ? U have pic of your setup ?

My 2x150MH is ceiling mounted and so I can adjust it higher up to accomodate the T8, but I just did not want to waste their power :)

thanks :)

I rest all my light on the bracing on left, centre to rite.

the mh is position @ the back top of the tank & the t8 on the front.

No obstruction at all. I only left a little space on the top front for me to do feeding & adjustment of rocks & corals.

my t8 consist of 1 white & 1 blue.

If u followed my placement, then u will have problem due to your tank 2ft width.
