i think, i SAID i think the best way would be to:

if u do nt wish to change the height of your MH,

descend your corals down to allow them to get used to the new intensity.

gradually move them up as you see them opening even MH is on.

if u do nt wish to move ur corals,

then i guess u have to start with a higher height of ur MH to e water surface.

start with a height that the softies and hardies are comfortable with, then gradually to the optimum height ...

my bulb leaves the water surface at rnd 10 inches... mines a 250 anyway

have fun~!~! :eyebrow::eyebrow::eyebrow::eyebrow:

That just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to,

doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

acclimitise ur lights properly... hang realli high... maybe u can start from ard 12 to 16 inches then slowly descend downwards as days goes down, like 3 days a inch like that...

try arrange ur corals as well, those requiring lower lights place them lower... u wont like it when u see ur mushrooms melt away ;)

i got the lights from victron,

initally i was on 2x39W T5: Corals opening as usual.

Saturday night i added 1x150w MH: Corals starts closing up.

Sunday was on 2x39W T5 only: corals still not opening.

today on 2x39W T5 again.. :corals like hammers and buttons did not open fully, star polyns open up

some mushrooms open up some facing the T5 closed.

so what should i do? continue to hang the mh as high as possible?

hammers are about 4inch beneath water and my mh is now about 12inch above water level.

please help~

to add on:

lights were use on old tanks and some corals were doing well under it, lost some hammers during that time, not sure is temp or the light itself as im not on chiller that time.

it has some words on the glass shield in german i think no idea what its saying too.
