normally is cause by strong lightings....mushroom esp yuma only need moderate lights...

maybe u can tell more about ur setups.

150watts MH.....2 mths ago bought this hairy mushrm with 6 slightly bigger than 50cent size on a single rock. place it on the bottom at low current....lost 1 head last month and one started to melt away this morning.

i have the same problem with 150mH .... just move it away and avoid directly MH will help

i think its best to put the corallimorpharians on the sand bed + some slightly shady places when you are using MH.

I don't think it's due to MH. As I'm using T5 HO Only and my hairy mushrooms melt away too. Wonder whether is it due to the collection method/ particular batch of hairy mushroom/ hairy mushroom from that particular area????

i've yumas and my stripe mushrm are all nearby, but funny things is that they are blooming... i guess i have no luck with this guy...

mine survive the toughest condition when other corals died but when tank condition improved and other corals thrive, the yuma and mushroom start to melt....

my exp with hairy mushroom is that they need lotsa light... they love my 150W MH... i place them at the top back of my tank, they open big big... last time put bottom right (shady area) lost quite a no. of them

I put my hairy mushroom quite high up and near to my 150w MH. It was bleached in the LFS when I first bought it. It is now slowly recovering and turning darker color. So I can say that MH is not the problem.

in my experience, those bigger bubble type yuma and hairy mushroom are quite hard to keep. Esp the bigger bubble yuma. Now got two pink and red yuma melting away.

Both yuma are in the system for about a month or so. There are ok until today. i have also melted another 3 red yuma before. Same way like these 2 yuma now. The rest of the yuma are ok.

IMO, I think the reason for melting is because of the ionic balance of the water. i ever recall i try changing water when i notice the yuma are stress. Only manage to save one out of 2. But its usually too late most of the time.

Any one knows what's actually causing the big bubble type yuma to melt??

Most of the time yuma emit WHITE stuffs that look like threads. Its normally too late.
