pests on live rock

hi all,recently started a 3 ft tank and some of the live rock i added had lots of.......stuff.i already caught a small crab but i spotted another one......and also i spotted a wormlike thing with lots of legs and spines,red incolour,and shoots back into a hole in the rock when i turn a light on....anybody got ways to remove??

i used a PVC elbow joint with tape on one end and prawn bait.caught one creb.

the worm shld be bristleworm.

generally harmless, taking care of detritus.

yeah.looks like tt,but not so colourful.....bristles also not so hairy.......doesn come out into the open leh.....how to catch?

wah seh... your tank is 2.5ft deep? 3ft deep? I already having trouble reaching bottom of my 2ft deep tank...

2.5 ft deep....tts nice and deep...but its hell to try and arrange the bottom rocks,tts y theres a step ladder there.... this topic shld have been started in the members tank and specs......

so its a good idea to remove ALL crabs? got a few in my tank. will they harm my live stock?

oh, if it looks like centipede then it shld be bristleworm le.. i used to have tt in my LR.. looks gross.. always wanted to get IT out.. and has been there for 1yr plus till i upgraded my tank and took the rock out to rinse... how i noe i had rinse IT out.. yucks.. image still in my mind.. eew~

heh heh...yes it looks damn gross and disgusting...

dunno if all crabs should be removed,but should try to catch and identify right?dun wanna risk losing any livestock

how i spotted the shitty worm was like i saw some stuff being excreted from somewhere on the rock....when i used a torchlight to try n find e source,i saw e damn worm inside.....anyways here is a pic of a crab i trapped....its shell is bout 0.8cm....

I always do a full inspection and remove any "beings" before i put the live rock into the tank.I'm not sure about what harm it can come up to so i just avoid this anticipate problems.
