Is It A Living Coral?

Recommended Posts

need help from anyone here.

I have this off white coloured plant / coral (not sure what it is) it looks like a leafless white tree with branches sticking out. I think it's a coral. How do I tell if it's alive?

if it is indeed alive, how do I feed it? or rather, what does it need? Alage doesnt grow on it (in the tank for 1 month already) but alage does grow on the rocks in the tank.

any advice apprieciated.

There's this sea plant (? is it really a plant?) which I dont know what it is. It opened for a week or so, but since have decided to remain shut. It has been 2 weeks since it last opened.

I think I must be forgetting something or doing something wrong here.

2nd pics are closed zooanthids,

they're relatively easy to keep,

in good conditions,

i know some reffers call them pests cos they grow so well and fast!

i'd advise check your water paremeters

I've checked the hardness and it's about 8. That's no good eh? I heard it should be like 10 to 15? Am i wrong?

Besides hardness, what else should I be looking out for?

I hope my athelias will become the pests of my tank. So far they are doing well for about 1 month + already

Always something more important than fish.

OK, here goes.

They are just dead sps coral skeleton......... IMO stop getting this kind of dead coral because read up somewhere some inconsiderate dealer, just took the live sps coral out and let dry in the sun just to get those beautiful skeleton to sell to us..........(not sure if its still happening)

Anyway the second pic are zoos.......... Have flourish under good water condition
