Need Advice on Water Temp & Chiller

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I bought a digital thermometer yesterday and placed in my marine tank (which has been left to mature for 4 weeks).

The temperature recorded is between 30 to 30.5 deg C.

Is the water temp. too high for clownfishes, basslets and damsels?

I also uses the hydrometer to test the SG of my tank water.

I understand that most hydrometers are made to test SG at 25 dec C.

Since my tank temp is around 30 deg C, what should the corresponding SG if I want the SG to be at 1.021?

I am considering a chiller if 30 deg C is deemed to hot for comfort.

Can anyone recommend the smallest/most compact chiller, its brand, price and where to buy it?

I also noticed a bivalve moving around my live rocks in the middle of the night.

Is there a need to feed it or will it survive?

Thanks very much.

Felix
