:thanks: ...

but i saw my friend's electic box w/o Contactor,  he is running on 500w mh too.  :blink:  :blink:  :blink:

i tot u have 3x250w? downgrade liao huh  :P  are using BLV bulb?

I only have 2x250W BLV bulb...maybe I'll add one more when it is time to replace the bulb.

Dersuz advise to use contactor to protect the heat from damaging the timer or something like that. I dunno.

Maybe Dersuz can explain better.

It will protect the lifespan of your timer cause onctact are made of plastic, prolong heating (high wattage = high heat) will melt down the contact to switch over.

If you see the timer diagram along with the timer you bought, they show you a contactor to be connected to from your timer.

Thanks Dersuz. I got mine running already last night.

One last question:

I ground the metal bar of the PVC box where the timer/mcb sits. Any benefits? Or I am suppose to do that. I did notice a small little light on my test pen at the output even though the timer/mcb is off. It dissapeared after I grounded the metal bar.

Final connection photo..

1. EH111 -> Contactor -> MCB : 2x250W MH

2. EH011 -> MCB : 2x54W T5 BluePlus

3. EH011 -> MCB : AC Fan

Extreme right green wire is grounded to the box metal bar.

Live connected through the connector. Jumper through all live input.

Left bar is for Neutral. Right bar is for ground.

So far looks running fine. No more slight current leakage after I grounded the metal bar.

Hi Joe,

The info to setup the Box is all here. Address to the cheapest Hager products and the wiring diagram.

Do let me know if I could make it more clearer for other DIYers.

PS: Your cream coloured acro have turn bright purple. :D

Will it be better to have another ELCB. So it wil not trip the main ELCB in the house ?

If you waan use a seperate RCCB/ELCB then you'll have to run another cable dedicated for your tank. ========> qualified electrician only :nuke:

Running 2 RCCB/ ELCB... is er... haven heard before :huh:

Of course not... I am not a very handy person.. Got those electricians certified by HDB to branch out from the main ELCB. I just told them what I wanted and they made it happen.. hehehe

I think you meant branch out from the main incoming supply before the RCCB/ELCB. ;)

If your tank and house both share the same RCCB/ELCB, anyone of them trip will cause both to trip together. :ph34r:

Pls get a qualified electrician to do the wiring... 220V ###### A... no joke, esp w/o RCCB/ELCB :nuke:
