:D Just a update regarding the overdriving of T5 tubes. I've so far tried out the Aqua Blue and Actinic Plus from Deltec over the past 3 weeks and result is excellent. This test is done on SPS & clams only and my initial observation although still needed time of 3 months to conclude a mature result, so far I see poly expansion after lights-off much better, especially for SPS specimens place at the corners, where MH don't get there enough. T5 tubes have been place right the corners/edge of the tank with the purpose to cover those blind spots by T5. Differences in Brightness is easily compare between the over-driven T5.. :yeah: way...way brighter :yeah: My clams located at the edge has also reduce their OVERLY extended mantle, due to increase light.

 Life of bulb...so far so good...no explosion yet  The lifespan of the tube will NEED any few more months of test...............

:whistle

From Icecap, the likely combination is 38~39% gain. That's 54W delivering 75W or 80W delivering 110W - same with VHO for the 5Ft. You can get the Icecap e-ballast or any dimmable e-ballast for T5. :P - BTW Icecap VHO e-ballast are dimmable - allow you to adjust the drive-up from 1% to 100%.

You can use any dimmable ballast to control the drive current, attaining the optimum brightest without over-driving the T5 to an extend where it fails - set to 20%~30% increase.....but you will end up paying more than the Ice-Cap 660. A dual dimmable T5 ballast cost about the same price of IC 660.....so must well get the IC660. ANyway the IC660 is dimmable as well.....basically the IC products are ready value for money ->minus the AIR FREIGHT

:P:P
