Make sure you get a anemone bigger than that clown cos maroon are known to be very harsh to anemone, thus killing it

eh..

anemone n clown (maroon included) has a commensalism relationship.

The anemone provides a safe home for the clown which in returns protects the anemone. (owing highly developed territorial nature)

However both are capable of surviving successfully. (individually)

Clown need time to settle down with an anemone.

They can't just take to anemone just like dat.

Anemone has the stinging cells, which I think can protect itself,

especially from other predatory.

Could be Tomato n Maroon are so much bigger in size and

seem rougher when they make themselves comforty.

For my side, my maroon has been taking real good care

of the host anemone. When I drop in Shrimp meat, the maroon

will pick it up and feed the anemone. Of course maroon will ensure

it got a good fill of its own stomach too.

Just now I pick two worms from a LR. The maroon pluck it

excited back to the host anemone. tik they BBQ them or eat

them sushi style.

If u seriously wanna get an anemone... make sure the type is the type that maroon clown likes... cos diff kinds of clown has affinity to diff types anemones....

As a matter of fact, u can do without an anemone.... read from an issue of "Tropical Fish Hobbyist" that having an anemone actually makes the clownfish work harder as it secretes some fluid to accomodate n mimic that of the anemone ( wat u is like the clown playing with the tentacles ).

In the wild, anemone-clownfish relationships are impt for survival, but in aquariums it is not so.... thus doing w/o the anemones can be a gd things also.... when we see, in an aquarium, with the clownfish "playing" with the host, we hav this impression that he's happy, but in actual fact, he's working a bit harder..... therefore, getting an anemone is pleasing to us, not necessary to him B)

Btw, anemones can expand n take up alot of spaces and move bout somemore.... thus, it may not be a good idea to buy it if u hav quite a lot of other corals ... cos it will sting them.... :whistle

No anemone sting can't fend the anemone from nudibranch........... Therefore a clown is there to defend the anemone............ Anyway it is the clown that is bigger than an anemone thus causing the anemone to be stress........

IMo anemone should not be kept in an aquarium......... They die just after few weeks they are brought into an aqaurium, and when they die :sick::sick:
