yea,good stuff...but for the price paid..he can get a heavy duty skimmer

It can handle up to 3000L.

One look at the bubbles you will know that it is a good skimmer.

If you run dual beckett with such chamber size and with MX100, it would be able to support 5000 litre tank.

But again power consumption is 240W for MX100.

Iwaki MX100 don't draw 240W, 240W is for 0 head so it draws slightly lesser depending on the actual head pressure.

Above is the summary of what makes an efficient and effective skimmer. Have a look at the size of the water column in the skimmer and you can guess how much contact time between bubbles and water there is.

Make sure its a recirculating external skimmer.. if you wanna DIY. Lots of advantages to it.

Yes it is. however, it can go with Hydor Setlz L40 pump too.
