Comment on AZ NO3

I hope that someone who have used AZ NO3 to enlighten me on how is the product. I read some articles and it said that AZ NO3 can effectively reduce nitrate and harmless to fishes and coral, however I have also read that AZ NO3 might cause the tank to crash. Pls help

I am using AZ-NO3 . Nitrate level dropped from 40ppm to 20ppm within one week. Wat I do is to underdose slightly instead of following the regime...so as not to bring abt drastic shock to coral.

tank crash is usually caused by drop in Oxygen level due to the cellular respiratory effect of AZ-NO3 enzyme on nitrate.... causing suffocation of ls,thus crash. if u follow closely to instruction or underdose, don think much of a problem(try to dose not at night so tat u can monitor w/t next few hrs on the ls...my thoughts.

dose strictly according to instructions given. slight underdose is a good and safe precaution. u need an efficient skimmer to skim out the DOC.

As long as your tank is well oxygenated, it is an excellent product to reduce NO3. Otherwise watch for signs like fish breathing difficulties, in this case drop and air stone to provive more oxygen and stop using this product. If your tank's water circulation is good, then you should not have problem with this product.
