does anyone have a problem with

hi folks,

I had a problem with my MH recently, after switching from 2 X 150W to

2 X 250W , my timer is constantly giving me problem... > I set my Mh from 1PM till 11PM, but alot of times after 11Pm its still on ( i had to off it manually many times around 3-4am, when i woke up and pee ). , and many times when i wake up at about 830am, the bloody light is still on

I suspected that something is wrong with my timer, therefore i bought 2 "brand new" the ben timer but it doesnt hepls, i'm still facing the same problem...

Does anyone have the same problem as me ? I know something is wrong somewhere... but i really cant figure out wats wrong...... pls help

i have only 2 conclusion

1. MH problem

2. timer problem ( which i doubt so, since i bought 2 brand new , situation doesnt change )

Hm.. I've had more problems with other analog timer brands.. I think 3 or 4 have spoilt over the past few years... so far "the ben" has served me well... I know of some people who's timer got burnt

I've tried loads of timer but only find 'The Ben' workable. Using for both my MH ans T5 lights, no problem so far.

bro, i had that problem before.

The timer screws up cos the contactor got sticky... place it away from any heat source. Mine was in the face of the chiller output. Woke up at 6am to find the lights still on....

After changing the position to inside my cabinet, it works fine...

i heard if u place it too close to the ballast of the mh lights the magnetic field of it may prevent yr timer from working properly

No leh my the ben is right next to my ballast... working almost a year nothing wrong... maybe heat is an issue

got diff types of ballast, maybe yrs doesn't produce strong mag field...or maybe i'm jus plain wrong

Maybe this timer is not reliable with very high wattage usage, seems like u guys are using for 2 X 250W lights. Anyway it's just a wild guess...
